Sofia joins the charity at an exciting time, with a growing audience, new branding and website, plans for modernisation and plans for major fundraising appeals all underway.

She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the charity, having been previously employed as fundraising manager at the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre and the Frimley Health Charity, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Her experience of charity fundraising also led to her joining the board of The Institute of Fundraising earlier this year.

“I’m really delighted and proud to have the opportunity to lead Raise as it develops”, said Sofia, “there is no doubt that our hospitals and the committed staff who work in them should have the best equipment and training to provide the finest care for our patients; Raise is here to do just that.

Raise is dedicated to supporting patient care at Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Watford General Hospital, and St Albans City Hospital.

She added: “In the coming weeks and months I intend that Raise is increasingly high profile across West Hertfordshire; there is so much more we can do to support our three amazing hospitals and if we can tap into the incredible community spirit of support for the trust there is no reason why we shouldn’t achieve all those ambitions.”
