Two new coronavirus deaths at West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust

There have been two coronavirus deaths recorded at West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust over the weekend, according to the latest official figures.

NHS England figures show 324 people had died in hospital at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust as of 5pm on Sunday, May 10.

Of 23 trusts within the region, the West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust, which manages Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital, has the highest death toll.

There have been nine coronavirus deaths at the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, which looks after the Marlowes Health and Wellbeing Centre in Hemel Hempstead, as well as other health centres in Essex, Norfolk and Buckinghamshire.

There have been eight coronavirus deaths at the Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, which looks after Cheshunt Community Hospital, Harpenden Memorial Hospital, Herts and Essex Hospital, Potters Bar Community Hospital, Roysten Hospital and Queen Victoria Memorial Hopsital in Welwyn.

There have been 128 coronavirus deaths at East and North Hertfordshire Trust, which is in charge of Lister Hospital, Hertford County Hospital, New QEII Hospital and Mount Vernon Cancer Care Centre.

The figures released by Public Health England show that there are no new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Dacorum, there are 317 cases in the borough.

There are 2,603 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Hertfordshire.

But the true number of cases is thought to be far higher with many people not being tested.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 223,060 (includes tests carried out by commercial partners which are not included in the country totals), rising by 3,877.

The number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 32,065, rising by 210 - according to Public Health England.

The number of deaths are people who have had a positive test result confirmed by a Public Health or NHS laboratory.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from COVID-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.
