New data from Public Health England shows children and teenagers accounted for more than one in seven cases of Covid confirmed in Dacorum on December 29.

The figures, gathered by the JPIMedia Data Unit, show a comparison between tests carried out on December 29, and December 18.

On December 18, 95 people of all ages tested positive in Dacorum, of these 11 were under 19 (11.6 per cent).

A week later, on December 29, 243 people of all ages tested positive in the borough, of these 36 were under 19 (14.8 per cent) - more than one in seven positive cases.

On December 29, five of the youngsters testing positive tests were aged four and under, eight were aged between five and nine, and another eight were aged between 10 and 14.

The biggest group - 15 teenagers - were in the 15 to 19 group.
