Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records a rise in confirmed cases today

Dacorum has recorded just 46 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours of data released this afternoon (February 12).

The total for the borough is now 7,877 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 157.7 per 100,000 to 136.3 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending February 7).

On February 5, the incidence rate was 261.7 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending January 31).

There have been 290 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 71,986.

> February 5 - 39 cases

> February 6 - 27 cases

> February 7 - 42 cases

> February 8 - 24 cases

> February 9 - 17 cases

> February 10 - 24 cases

According to Public Health England there were 189 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, February 9, and 14 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been four new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 297. There were another 19 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 2,279 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 15,144 and now stands at 4,013,799. The number of deaths has risen by 758 to 116,287.

As of February 11, in the UK, 14,012,224 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 530,094 had received their second dose.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Wednesday, February 10, and 5pm on Thursday, February 11.
