Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 35 new cases in 24 hours

Dacorum has recorded 35 new positive Covid-19 cases today (January 26).

The total for the borough is now 7,157, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days is 356.7 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending January 21).

According to Public Health England there were 302 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, January 19, and 21 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been six new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 244, and there have been 47 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 1,885 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 20,089 and now stands at 3,689,746. The number of deaths has risen by 1,631 to 100,162.

As of January 25, in the UK, 6,853,327 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 472,446 had received their second dose. ​In the East of England, 742,018 had received their first dose and 53,658 people had received their second dose of the vaccination.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Sunday, January 24, and 5pm on Monday, January 25.
