There have been 34 new positive Covid-19 tests in Dacorum over the weekend, the total for the borough is now 775, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were 291 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 6,353.

Due to a technical issue, which has now been resolved, there has been a delay in publishing a number of COVID-19 cases to the dashboard in England.

This means the total reported over the coming days will include some additional cases from the period between 24 September and 1 October, increasing the number of cases reported.

The cases by publish date for 3 and 4 October include 15,841 additional cases with specimen dates between 25 September and 2 October — they are therefore artificially high for England and the UK.

There was one new death of patients testing positive for Covid-19 in Hertfordshire, but no new deaths in Dacorum. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic of people who had a positive test result for COVID-19 and died within 28 days of the first positive test in Dacorum remains at 94, in Hertfordshire it is now 860 deaths.

There have been 502,978 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

The number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 42,350 - according to Public Health England.

Nationally, the death toll has been 'recalculated' by officials. The new count is based on a new definition of who has died from Covid-19.

Previously, people in England who died at any stage following a positive test, regardless of the cause of their death, were counted in the figures.

However, there is now a cut off point of 28 days from the first laboratory-confirmed positive COVID test.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The figures come from the Government website which is available for the public to view here.
