Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 25 new cases in 24 hours

Dacorum has recorded 25 new positive Covid-19 cases today (February 4).

The total for the borough is now 7,646 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days remains at 263 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending January 30).

On January 28, the incidence rate was 327 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending January 23).

There have been 297 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 69,855.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> January 28 - 98 cases

> January 29 - 70 cases

> January 30 - 67 cases

> January 31 - 45 cases

> February 1 - 50 cases

> February 2 - 53 cases

> February 3 - 33 cases.

According to Public Health England there were 215 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, February 2, and 19 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There has been one new death recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 274, and there have been nine new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 2,139 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 20,634 and now stands at 3,892,459. The number of deaths has risen by 915 to 110,250.

As of February 3, in the UK, 10,490,487 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 501,957 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Tuesday, February 2, and 5pm on Wednesday, February 3.
