Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 166 new cases over the weekend

Dacorum has recorded 166 new positive Covid-19 cases over the weekend.

The total for the borough is now 6,485, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

On Saturday, 115 cases were recorded, and there were 51 cases recorded yesterday (Sunday).

The incidence rate over the last 7 days is 505.3 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending January 12).

There have been 1,234 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 59,732.

According to Public Health England there were 347 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, January 12, and 23 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been nine new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 196, and there have been 50 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 1,564 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases is 3,395,959 and the number of deaths is now 89,261.

The estimated R number is 1.2 to 1.3 with a daily infection growth rate range of +2% to +5% as of 15 January.

In the UK, as of January 16, 3,857,266 people in the UK had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 449,736 had received their second dose. ​

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
