Young people in Hertfordshire are being asked how lockdown has affected their wellbeing in a survey being launched tomorrow (July 1).

The survey by Hertfordshire County Council’s youth service, YC Hertfordshire Services for Young People, asks young people how COVID-19 has affected them and what their biggest concerns are.

After an extensive survey six months ago, the service is keen to know if the priorities identified then are still as important now. The latest results will then be used to help shape support and services available to young people over the coming months.

Deputy leader of Hertfordshire County Council and cabinet member for children, young people and families, Cllr Teresa Heritage, said: “Young people in Hertfordshire have responded to the COVID-19 crisis incredibly well and shown great resilience.

“This survey is a good way for us to find out what impact lockdown has had on our young people, so we can ensure that we get services for them just right over the coming months.”

Since the start of lockdown, YC Hertfordshire has provided a range of support, projects and programmes to young people by phone and online. The survey also seeks to assess their effectiveness.
