Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 69 new cases over the weekend

Dacorum has recorded 69 new positive Covid-19 cases over the weekend.

The total for the borough is now 7,754 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

On Saturday, 27 cases were recorded, and there were 42 cases recorded yesterday (Sunday).

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 261.7 per 100,000 to 232.6 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending February 2).

On January 31, the incidence rate was 279.1 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending January 26).

There have been 647 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 70,813.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> January 31 - 45 cases

> February 1 - 50 cases

> February 2 - 53 cases

> February 3 - 33 cases

> February 4 - 25 cases

> February 6 - 27 cases

> February 7 - 42 cases.

According to Public Health England there were 215 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, February 2, and 19 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been four new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 286, and there have been 26 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 2,197 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases is 3,945,680 and the number of deaths is now 112,465.

As of February 6, in the UK, 12,014,288 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 511,447 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
