A business in Hemel Hempstead has donated over £3,000 to DENS from a national £1million 'Agency Giving Fund' launched by the company's head office.

NFU Mutual Agents and their staff in Hemel Hempstead chose DENS to receive a donation of more than £3,100 - DENS is a homelessness charity, its main aim to relieve poverty and distress of those living in Dacorum.

To help ensure this support reaches all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual has reached out to its Appointed Representative network of local Agents.

This donation will allow homeless charity DENS to continue to provide vital frontline services to the most vulnerable people in Dacorum at their Foodbank and in their 44-bed Hostel.

Tony Fields, Senior Partner NFU Mutual, said: “The Coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on everybody, including our customers and their local communities.

Fran Martin, DENS Head of Fundraising and Communications, said: “We are extremely thankful to NFU Mutual Hemel Hempstead for nominating our charity to receive a donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.

"We are experiencing an unprecedented rise in the demand for food parcels in our Foodbank, and our priority remains to meet these high demands ensuring no one goes hungry during this pandemic.

"Sadly, our Events Programme is cancelled for the foreseeable future so this generous donation will go a long way to help make up the shortfall we are facing.”
