Phoenix Entertainments brings circus workshops to Hemel Hempstead
The fun of the circus is coming to Hemel Hempstead!
A woman from Hemel Hempstead is hosting circus workshops in the town to celebrate the Herts Year of Culture.
Rachel Phoenix, the founder of Phoenix Entertainments, set up the circus workshops to inject arts and culture into society.
Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, Phoenix Entertainment will be bringing all the fun of the Circus to Hemel Hempstead by running fun and interactive Circus Workshops for both children and adults.
As part of Herts Year of Culture Phoenix Entertainment will be running fun activities that are a great way to keep fit and boost well-being.
Activities include juggling, spinning plates, aerial hoop, tumbling, pedal goes, circus games, slack lines and more.
Rachel said: "The events industry has unfortunately been predominantly closed since March and as such arts and culture which is vital for people's wellbeing has been severely lacking in the community.
"Arts Council England have received millions in funding from the government and national lottery and they want performers and event businesses such as myself to find a way to inject arts and culture into society, safely and bring back some much need culture and enjoyment."
The workshops are for children aged five to 12, and there are some adult workshops too.
Rachel added: "The workshops are fun and creative, we have a wide range of activities including an Aerial Rig, pedal goes, juggling, spinning plates, balance feathers, poi, and circus games.
"We can cater for many disabilities too so please just ask."
Dates start this weekend, Saturday, September 26, and run until October 30, including half term week.
