Far from the average desk job, Test Engineers at the British Standards Institution spend their days with a chisel in hand trying to break into windows, or drop testing helmets to ensure they'll survive in a crash, testing products to ensure they're safe for consumers.

She goes to college once a week to study engineering, and so will gain a qualification at the end of her apprenticeship. Her job role includes testing windows and doors to ensure they adhere to BSI standards.
