According to a 2018 survey carried out by Kings Court Trust, 54 per cent of adults do not have a will.

With the onset of Covid-19, there has been an increase in the demand for wills as people want to know that their loved ones will be provided for should anything happen to them.

With many families also under financial pressure, the charity’s Make a Will Month helps people to sort out their affairs at a reduced cost – whilst also helping out a local charity that has faced a reduction in income during the pandemic.

Lisa McBrearty, from Machins Solicitors, said: “It’s so important to make a will to ensure that your wishes are put into effect.

"This is the perfect opportunity to make or update your will whilst also supporting the fantastic work done by the Chilterns MS Centre.”

This is the third Make a Will Month that the Chilterns MS Centre has run. All donations will go towards providing support to people in the area who are affected by multiple sclerosis,

a life-limiting condition of the central nervous system that has no cure.

The Centre provides regular therapy and practical and emotional support for free to people living with the condition. This is something they cannot get on an ongoing basis from the NHS.

Sharon Cooper, Head of Fundraising, said: “We rely on the support of our local community, especially in these challenging times.

"Having Machins on board as part of this scheme is great, as it not only supports the Centre but their local community too.

"Not having a will can be stressful, but making one can bring great relief knowing your wishes will be followed."
