You’d be barking mad to miss this doggy day

DOG lovers will be panting in anticipation at the thought of a show dedicated to man’s best friend in Waddesdon.

The first ever Waddesdon Woof takes place on Saturday, September 17, at Waddesdon Recreation Ground, Baker Street, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic event.

Celebrity TV vet Joe Inglis (Blue Peter, The One Show) will be there all day, as will a number of other exhibitors including Naturally Happy Dogs, Hart Veterinary Practice and Animal Search UK.

Throughout the day there will be competitions including longest biscuit balance, child’s best friend, waggiest tail and best trick. Each competition winner receives a certificate and a prize.

Leading assistance dog trainer Nina Bondarenko, who currently trains dogs to detect low blood sugar levels in those with diabetes, will be doing a demonstration and judging the competitions. There will also be a special celebrity guest joining the judging panel.

Other features include free behaviour clinics, dog training demonstrations and an opportunity to have a professional photograph taken of your dog.

The event runs from 11am to 4pm. For full details of the event and to register your dog for one of the competitions, go to www.waddesdonwoof.co.uk
