A thrilling mix of new shows and classics

Block buster shows, musicals, drama and ethereal ballet make up a sizzling summer programme at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury. Hits including Dirty Dancing, The Sound of Music, Little Shop of Horrors and The Mousetrap will be shown alongside a brand new production, Jane Eyre by the Northern Ballet.

One of the greatest musicals of all time, The Sound of Music, returns to the stage with Lucy O’Byrne, fresh from her success on BBC1’s The Voice in the role of Maria, the novice nun who becomes governess to the seven children of a widowed retired naval officer. The musical is on from Wednesday May 18 - Saturday 21. Tickets from £15.

The Northern Ballet is renowned for transforming well known stories into incredible dance theatre, and on Friday June 3 and Saturday 4 the company brings Jane Eyre to the theatre. Tickets from £10.50. Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap has been running for over 60 years and is famous around the world. Starring Louise Jameson as Mrs Boyle, it tells the story of a group of people gathered in a country house cut off by snow, who are horrified to find there is a murderer in their midst. The musical Chicago based on real life criminal events in the 1920s is on from Monday July 11 - Saturday 16. Tickets from £15.

Shadowlands, exploring the true life tale of Oxford don and author C S Lewis and American poet Joy Davidman is on from Monday July 18 - Saturday 23. Tickets from £15.

The kooky 1950s sci-fi spoof Little Shop of Horrors stars Rhydian Roberts and tells the story of how a flower shop assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers a strange and exotic plant. At the theatre from Tuesday September 13 - Saturday 17. Tickets from £15.

Dirty Dancing, including ‘that’ iconic finale, tells the tale of a summer of love for Baby and Johnny and is on from Monday September 19 - Saturday 24. Tickets from £12.50. And Sunny Afternoon, telling the story of British Sixties band The Kinks is on from Tuesday September 27 - Saturday October 1. Tickets from £15.
