Class is out for Teechers at The Court Theatre

JOHN Godber’s classic drama, Teechers,opens at The Court Theatre this Wednesday, June 27, for a four night run.

The play, directed by Wayne MacLaughlin, is a fund raiser for the venue and for “Theatre Is” to help fund a bursary in memory of Hector Stringer, a local teenager who died last year.

Written in 1987 it tells the story of three school-leavers, Salty, Hobby and Gail, who perform to the audience an account of their time in high school.

It specifically charts their time with Mr Nixon, the new drama teacher, who ignites their passion for the stage with his idealism and belief that all children should be treated equally.
