Avenue seen these puppets somewhere before?

The Berkhamsted Theatre Company show sees Princeton, a bright-eyed college graduate, move into a shabby apartment all the way out on Avenue Q as he sets out to follow his dreams and discover his purpose in life.

He is led on a riotous journey of self discovery by Kate Monster (the girl next door), Rod (a closet gay republican), Trekkie Monster (the internet sex-pert) and Lucy the Slut (her name says it all) and a host of other colourful characters .

Life may suck on Avenue Q but being jobless, homeless, politically incorrect, and having sex are just some of the topics covered in the irreverent songs of this show.

Described as an x-rated Sesame Street with a hint of Friends, Avenue Q is not suitable for children but if you have a good sense of humour, it will be right up your street!

It is the result of a collaboration between Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx – creators of South Park and current West End smash hit The Book of Mormon.

The Berkhamsted Theatre Company welcomes Peter Dodsworth to the director’s chair. Peter has previously worked with the company as musical director, and Graham Thomson has taken on the mantle this year.

So leave your dignity at the door, your political correctness at home and prepare to laugh your socks off at this monstrously funny musical.
