125 years on, Ripper’s yarn is still a draw
But even though the trail ran out 125 years ago, that doesn’t stop the Ripper industry rolling out new theories.
Retired murder squad detective Trevor Marriott is touring a show which takes a 21st century look at the famous Victorian case, which arrives at Harpenden Public Halls on Friday night.

There have been more than 100 books published, as well as a string of films and television documentaries.
But Trevor says many have distorted the facts to the point that the public now accepts the fiction more readily than the reality.
Trevor has spent more than a decade poring over the 1888 case, and his conclusions blow many of the original theories out of the water.
