Strolling out to celebrate the bluebells

Carpets of bluebells are one of the seasonal splendours of the National Trust’s Ashridge estate, and there’s a chance to step out and savour them with an expert guide next Wednesday evening.

Walkers will set off from the visitor centre in Moneybury Hill, Ringshall at 7pm for a two hour tramp, led by a ranger.

Tickets are £7, Friends of Ashridge get a £1 discount and children pay £5. Booking is essential – call 01442 851227 for details.

For the less energetic, Ashridge’s annual plant fair, when volunteer growers and local nurseries will be selling a wide variety of plants by the monument, is on the calendar for Sunday, May 12 from 11am to 4pm.
