The firm’s experts were called in to help to launch the new Expendables 3 blockbuster with a £100,000 display at the after-show party on Sunday.

A-list stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson were in the star-studded audience who tucked into lobster and champagne before the five-minute show involving more than half a ton of fireworks set off to a heavy metal music mix.

Managing director Jon Culverhouse said: “The show ended with the film’s name appearing in a unique fireworks and LED lighting rig.

“In order to ensure its safe arrival in Cannes the 30ft long set-piece was broken down and transported in a 4x4 vehicle – a 700-mile journey that took 16 hours!

“Other members of the Fantastic Fireworks crew flew down to set up the fireworks on a 30-metre barge moored in Cannes harbour alongside some of the world’s most expensive yachts.

“Fired by computer, more than half a ton of fireworks hit the sky bringing cheers from the celebs.
