Chiquito still making Mexican waves seven months on

Half a year after its arrival in Hemel Hempstead Chiquito is still making Mexican waves at Jarman Park.

Just ask anyone that has been there since it opened as part of the rejuvenated development back in December.

From an economic point of view, it brought 50 jobs to the town but its Tex Mex offering is what has proved popular with Dacorum residents.

The move into Hemel came after a number of rebrands, but Chiquito is back to its very best at Jarman Park.

Offering good family fun, full of choice at reasonable prices, the menu, both food and drink, is absolutely vast and has too much choice if there is such a thing?

The South American vibe offers something very different to the town’s other restaurants with Mexican music filling the air and a real buzz amongst staff and customers.

Friendly bar staff make waiting a rare pleasure and they’ll even talk you through what’s going in your cocktail if they’re not too busy.

Sombreros at your table add to the fun but it is the food where Chiquito gets it right and at a reasonable price.

There’s so much choice with everything from a burger list which puts the likes of Gourmet Burger Kitchen to shame to tacos, burritos, fajitas and the fantastic tostada platter – Tex Mex flatbreads with different toppings.

There’s plenty for vegetarians to enjoy too and if its a special occasion like a birthday you’ll certainly know about it, as will everyone else in
the restaurant.

Wait times for tables could vary quite a lot although the initial rush after its opening has subsided with the likes of neighbouring Coast 2 Coast taking some of the custom too.

Overall Chiquito has been a welcome addition to the town’s restaurant/bar scene and offers Mexican food at prices that, unlike their spicy food, won’t leave your eyes watering.
