Music nights come to Berkhamsted

The pub is now holding regular monthly live music sessions with great local acts as well as some from further afield.Once a month, usually on Fridays, regulars and new guests alike can go along and enjoy a few drinks and some great sounds with names like The Measures and Dino Baptiste booked to play over the coming months.Pub manager Bruce Simmons said: “The Old Mill’s a great local with a great atmosphere which we though could only get better if we had some regular live music easing everyone into the weekend.“So we’ll be hosting some cracking live acts to make the pub the place to be on a Friday, or indeed a Thursday night.“We’ve got some amazing acts booked to play including local band The Measures who have an eclectic set of upbeat and more soulful songs making them a great choice for an acoustic fuelled, fun Friday night. We’ll also have one of the top keyboard players in the UK, Dino Baptiste, whose style of blues, boogie woogie and rock n’ roll piano playing and dynamic vocals will get everyone on their feet.”Other acts appearing at The Old Mill include singer songwriter George Powell who does covers from Paolo Nutini, James Bay and The Rolling Stones as well as his own original songs.Andy Soper and Clint Henderson, an acoustic duo from Hertfordshire, will also bring their own distinctive style of guitar, vocals and percussion to the pub.Mr Simmons said: “The live sessions are going to bring some cool sounds and a relaxed but exciting atmosphere to the pub, and the really great news is that they’re totally free to attend.
