And the narrator on stage continually responds to and encourages pantomime style comments from the auditorium.

The rock and roll musical, written in the 70s has stood the test of time according to its creator Cheltenham born Richard O’Brien, “because it swings!”

Whenever it appears on tour, there is usually a party at the host theatre on the final night, and Watford Colosseum is no exception.

A post show party will be held at the theatre on Saturday July 16 with plenty of drinking and dancing guaranteed and costumes are highly recommended. Tickets for the post show party are £15 and include the disco, cocktail and cupcake. The offer does not include a ticket to the Saturday night performance of the show.

Rocky, featuring the Transylvania pelvic thrusting Time Warp, tells the story of newly engaged Janet and Brad, two squeaky clean college kids, who get lost in the rain and end up at the castle of Dr Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite who is holding an annual convention of visitors from the planet Transsexual.

And it turns out to be an adventure the couple will never forget.

Rocky, starring Liam Tamne as Frank-N-Furter, is on at the Colosseum at 7.30pm from Monday July 11 through to Thursday July 14 and at 5pm and 7.30pm on Friday and Saturday (July 15 and 16).
