Showstopper! The Improvised Musical

No two nights are ever the same as the Showstoppers cast take audience suggestions and then spin a brand new comedy musical out of thin air - stories, characters, tunes, lyrics, dances, harmonies and all - with unpredictable and hilarious results.

If you have been to an improv show before and thought it looked difficult, imagine doing it in time (and in tune) to music!

Having grown since 2008 to become the country’s most acclaimed and in-demand musical improvisers, The Showstoppers have become a must-see staple of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

And Mr Moorhouse was fortunate to get them booked for the festival in Tring the night before they won an Olivier award.

The rotating cast features some of the brightest minds in the world of comedy and musical theatre. The company includes co-founder Adam Meggido, a writer and composer who currently holds the world record for directing the longest impro show - 55 hours without a break.

The other co-founder, Dylan Emery, has been improvising for more than 15 years and created veteran comedy impro group Grand Theft Impro.

Other cast members include Pippa Evans who has had many years of success with her hit character act Loretta Maine; Ruth Bratt who has appeared in Ricky Gervais’ Derek; and Sara-Louise Young who won Best Musical Variety Act at the London Cabaret Awards.

The Showstoppers will perform at The Court Theatre at 8pm on Wednesday June 29. Tickets cost £17.50 and are available from www.tringefestival.co.uk
