There’s just one month to go until the Old Town opens itself up for its fabulous first festival.

The day-long extravaganza will feature a plethora of performances from local musicians and dance troupes, as well as cooking demonstrations and stalls from High Street traders and charities.

The celebration coincides with the newly-renovated Old Town Hall’s Folk Fest, which will include morris dancing, folk music sets and a headline evening concert in the arts venue, in the centre of theHigh Street.

Town centre co-ordinator Jackie Ramnarine said: “I want to see people in the street enjoying themselves. The Old Town is something to be proud of. We now want people to feel positive about it and help to bring up the footfall.”

The Old Town Street Festival takes place on Saturday, July 19 from 1pm to 6pm.
