Runners who turned out for the annual Tring Fun Run have brought in around £2,500 for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.

There was a record number of runners last month (June) but the star of the event was eight-year-old Kieran Clark who raised the most money.

He raked in an impressive £300 through sponsorship and has been presented with a special Star Fundraiser Award by the hospice.

The event is organised each year by Tring Running Club and on Wednesday, June 18 hundreds of people turned out to do their part for the hospice, which provides care for terminally and seriously ill people within their own homes.

Community fundraiser Joanne Neale said: "We were delighted that Kieran raised so much money for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and as a result of his fundraising we have decided to run a Star Fundraiser competition for the fun run next year."

This was the third year that Kieran, a pupil at Dundale School in Tring, took part in the run.

He trained for the event by joining his mum Tina on cycle rides to Pitstone and is also a keen swimmer with Tring Swimming Club.
