A project that will transform the way pupils get to school has been backed by Tring Town Council.
The safer routes to school team at Herts Highways has been working in partnership with Tring School and Grove Road School.

Plans designed to make it easier and safer for youngsters to walk or cycle to the two schools have been drawn up.

It includes a new entrance and carriageway works in Grove Road, a zebra crossing on Mortimer Hill, a shared use footway and cycleway leading from Station Road to Tring School and a redesigned entrance into the school.

During a Tring Town Council meeting on Monday (September 29), Councillor Lloyd Harris said: "This is something that has been long called for and I am absolutely thrilled to see it come through."

Mayor of Tring Mike James added: "We strongly support it."

A public consultation with affected residents will be held before a final decision is made on whether the plans go ahead.
