Students from across the world who attend the Arts Educational School were ringing in anxious to find out their results.

Teenagers from across the globe attend the school in Tring which specialises in the performing arts.

Staff there said the telephones were ringing non-stop as teens called in, while others nervously waited for an email from the school revealing the all important grades.

Director of academic studies Helen Wells said 90 per cent of students got A to C grades. "A couple of them are foreign students who did their GCSEs in their second language, so we have done well.

"We are very pleased with the results. The students spend halt the day on their academic lessons and the other half they spend on performance. They would have literally gone from sitting a GCSE exam into a dance or dram rehearsal."
