A theatre student from Tring has bagged a major role in the top BBC soap EastEnders.
Bart Edwards was spotted by one of the show's directors while performing in a musical.

The 19-year-old, of Park Road, will hit our screens as new character Olly.

However, the Tring Arts Educational School student is staying tight lipped on the details of his character.

Under his newly signed contract he is banned from revealing any information.

Speaking of his recent success Mr Edwards said: "It is just amazing.
"Everybody is lovely on the set.
"I watch it (EastEnders] on TV but I never expected to be on TV with those people. I have seen them on TV from a young age and then suddenly I'm on set with them reading lines."

The young actor said he has been warmly welcomed by the likes of Patsy Palmer, better known as loud-mouthed Bianca and Adam Woodyatt who plays Ian Beale.

Mr Edwards joined the Tring performance school when just 13 years old and is now in his final year of sixth form studying musical theatre.

He describes his character Olly, aged around 18, as a laid back person who takes each day as it comes.

The teenager will appear on our TVs soon.

A spokesman for EastEnders said it is too early to reveal any information about the new character.
