School lays down the law

A lawyer turned teacher has introduced a new A Level in law at the school where she works.
Anastasia Nicola has been teaching English for five years after deciding to turn her back on a career in the court room.
Now she is putting her legal knowledge to good use by teaching A Level law to students at Tring School.
Miss Nicola has been at the school in Mortimer Hill for three years and launched the subject course earlier this month (September).
She said: "I have been wanting to introduce law for sometime at the school.
"It has proved very successful. We recently had a visit to the Houses of Parliament and on the back of that local MP David Gauke came to give a talk."
Mr Gauke, who represents South West Herts, met with students on Tuesday, September 16 to talk about his role and how he became elected.
A total of 17 students are currently studying parliamentary law making and will go on to look at criminal law and tort law as part of the new course.
Miss Nicola, who also teaches English to students, said she decided to change careers because she wanted to make a difference to young people.
"I wanted to start making a difference to young people's lives rather than meeting them in courts for young offenders," she said.
