Options to stop xmas tree vandals

Options to combat vandalism to Tring's town centre Christmas tree have been considered well ahead of the festive period.
Town councillors gave the go ahead for work to deepen the tree pit in Church Square so that it can hold a larger Christmas tree.
It is hoped this will be less susceptible to damage.
In recent years yobs have ripped decorations from the festive tree ruining the display.
The lights have previously been provided by the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and were a focal point for a special Light up a Life ceremony where people sponsored individual lights through the charity in memory of loved ones.
During a Tring Town Council meeting on Monday, July 14 clerk Susan Johnson agreed to look into whether a bench close to the tree pit can be temporarily removed while the tree is in place.
Councillor Denise Rance said: "The reason the tree gets vandalised is that they climb up onto the bench to reach it."
Last year it was decided not to install a Christmas tree due to vandalism. Instead the hospice at home lit up an already existing tree in the square.
