Picture Box owner Elizabeth Land celebrated one year of trading in Tring last week.

She took the brave step of turning her back on a successful marketing career to take on the High Street picture framing and art gallery business.

And since taking over on August 1, 2006 she has not looked back.

Mrs Land said: "The people in Tring are lovely. I have made some good friends and it doesn't seem like a year has gone by."

During the last 12 months she has made many changes to the shop including transforming the interior and the window display is regularly changed to display the work of different artists.

The business was previously run by Penny Lennard for 10 years before she emigrated to New Zealand with her partner.

Mrs Land said: "While there are expensive pieces of art here there is also something for every budget. Prices vary from £10 to £350 and if people can't see what they want I have plenty of catalogues here for them to flick through to find what they're looking for."

Picture Box can be found at 73 High Street, Tring, call 01442 827071 or visit www.pictureboxtring.co.uk.
