Police rushed to Wigginton near Tring following reports of gun shots on Sunday evening. (July 13)
Officers were responding to a call from a concerned member of the public who reported hearing shots in a field just after 7pm.

However, when they arrived at the scene, close to the junction of Oddy Hill and The Twist, officers discovered the noise was caused by men shooting rabbits.

A spokesman for Herts Police said: "Someone called in saying they heard gun shots.

"It was literally men shooting rabbits for a farmer."
