Guided walks highlighting Tring's historic roots will be held as part of the national Heritage Open Days.
The days are run by the Civic Trust and celebrate England's architecture and culture.

On Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 there will be two guided walks on offer, which will both run during the two days.

They are a tour of Tring
Park and a walk around the historic town centre.

They start at 2pm on each day from the Natural History Museum in Akeman Street and will take around two hours each.

The walks, led by historians Mike Bass and Tim Amsden, are free of charge but organisers will welcome any donations to the Tring Local History Museum project.

Those who chose the town walk will get to see work in progress at the new town museum in Brook Street.

Walkers will need to wear suitable clothing and footwear and the tours are not suitable for very young children.

A wheelchair friendly version of the Tring Park walk can be arranged if notice is given.

For more information call Mr Amsden on 01442 827453. Details of other Heritage Open Day events can be obtained from the Civic Trust on 020 7539 7907 or www.heritageopendays.org.
