Grants for good causes

Cash grants have been pledged to good causes and community groups.
Tring Town Council has so far awarded £900 to organisations that do good work in the town.

Tring Justice and Peace Group has been given £100 by councillors towards the production of a guide to local produce.

Tring Squadron, which is saving up for a new television and computer screens, received £200.

Tring Salvation Army has been granted £100, Tring Beavers Swimming Club got £300 and the Tring Festival Company received £200.

The council gives grants from its budget each year and has a total of £2,700 to give during 2009/10.
