Hard working gardeners who brighten up the day for passers-by have been rewarded for their efforts.
Tring Town Council awarded green fingered gardeners with trophies to recognise their hours spent digging and planting.

The overall winning cup went to Peggy Harman of Dundale Road who was presented with the Tring Urban District Cup during a meeting on Monday, September 29.

Gavin Munro, of Eight Acres, was awarded the Trevor Marwood Cup under the small gardens category. Mayor of Tring Mike James said Mr Munro's hanging baskets had particularly impressed.

The cup is named after the late Herts County Councillor and chairman Mr Marwood, who was interested in all things green.

Gardening couple Hannah and Derek Connell were presented with the Coulter Cup which is open to those living in Eight Acres.

The Best Kept Gardens is an annual award run by the town council.
