Four teachers with more than 120 years of service at Tring School between them have retired.
A history of the leavers' careers was featured in the school's newsletter and a farewell party held on the last day of term.

John and Donna Beesley plan to spend much of their retirement enjoying their mutual love of canal boats, MGs and steam engines. They had both been at the school for 26 years.

Mr Beesley taught design and technology and was involved in many projects over the years including building a clock with students that hangs on the wall of the school's Desborough Hall, while Mrs Beesley specialised in maths.

Business teacher Wendy Stevens also left the school after 30 years of teaching at the school in Mortimer Hill.

She started off teaching office skills but has spent much of her time teaching business to vocational students, including those on the Advanced GNVQ Business course.

Geoff Bunting who also retired last week joined the geography department in 1973 and was head of the department for 28 years.

He became acting head of Pendley House at the school in 1989, deputy head of sixth form in 1990 and head of sixth form in 2002.
