Waste chiefs will use the serial numbers on the back of dumped computer screens in Ivinghoe to track down the owners.

The heap of computer equipment was spotted by a Gazette photographer in a car park off the B488 close to the historic Pitstone Windmill.

It will cost Aylesbury Vale District Council around £50 of taxpayers' money to collect the rubbish which will then be disposed of by Bucks County Council at a further cost.

However, because the case is still under investigation it is not yet known how much disposal of the waste, classed as 'hazardous', will cost.

Council workers were due to visit the site on Thursday to collect the rubbish.

Alison Kennedy from the district council said: "They are going to check all of the serial numbers on the computers and then they will try and track down who bought the computers.

"Companies have a duty of care for the disposal of their waste."

This is not the first time the small car park has been dumped on. A restaurant owner was tracked down and prosecuted when his rubbish was discovered there.
