Punters supped on beers brought in specially for a drinking festival at a village pub.

Barmaid Rachel Hing at the Valiant Trooper in Aldbury served up the usual tipples as well as a few bar additions including beers Brewers Gold, Pegasus, Stallion and Rupert's Ruin and a mixed scrumpy cider from Hemel Hempstead based firm Millwhites.

The beer festival at the pub in Trooper Road ran throughout the Bank Holiday weekend from August 23-25.

Landlady Beth Parmar, who took over the pub with husband Beej earlier this year, said: "It was very successful. We sold out of the beer that we brought in especially over the three days. The BBQ and hog roast were popular."

The event was such a hit that a winter beer festival is being planned and other events are also in the pipeline.
