Plans to replace old office space with two semi-detached homes have been recommended for refusal.
Tring Town Councillors said the proposal was 'over-development' of the site at The Old Chapel in Chapel Street, Tring.

The go ahead had previously been given to covert the property into a single four-bed detached home by Dacorum Borough Council.

During the Tring Town Council meeting on Monday, September 1, when the latest plans were considered, Councillor Christopher Townsend said: "I think it is quite clearly over-development. When I looked at the plans I thought it was too much being crammed in."

A member of the public voiced his objection saying the plans show no provision of off-road parking in an area that already has a shortage of parking spaces.

However, councillors said parking provision cannot be put forward as an objection under planning rules.

They agreed to recommend the plans for refusal on the grounds of over-development. A final decision will be made by Dacorum Borough Council.
