Tring Town Council will discuss bus services in the town following funding cuts.

It is feared the 387 bus running between Tring, Aldbury and Wigginton, the most expensive to run in Dacorum, could be one of the first to face the axe.

Dacorum Borough Council recently decided to withdraw its contribution of £173,000 to subsidise bus services.

The rest of the bill is met by Herts County Council.

During a meeting of Tring Town Council on Monday, January 21, member of the public Pat Gray told councillors: "There are a lot of very worried people out there. If that bus is taken away there will be no way that a lot of people will be able to get into the town.

"I strongly feel there should be a strategy by the council to fight any cuts to the buses."

Tring councillors will discuss how to protect the bus service during a meeting of the full town council on Monday, February 18.
