School children in Hemel Hempstead stepped out to try and smash a 'walking bus' world record.
Pupils at Lime Walk Primary School were among many in Dacorum who took part in the event on Wednesday, June 17.

More than 170 youngsters completed a 550m safe circuit in the school grounds on Lime Walk in Hemel Hempstead.

Road safety charity Brake arranged the world record attempt - where around 100,000 UK children walked hand-in-hand to campaign against speeding drivers.

It is hoped their efforts will break the current record - of 57,476 -
and raise more than £70,000 for Brake.

According to the charity's statistics, between five and six children are killed or seriously injured on UK roads every day.

More information is available at www.brake.org.uk or calling 01484 559909.
