Sisters who lost their dad to a brain tumour this year got to meet some of their pop star idols thanks to a hospice.

Young Maddie, aged 13, and eight-year-old Lillie Gray, met the likes of JLS, Westlife, Peter Andre and the cast of EastEnders.

The pair featured in a Children in Need (CIN) video, that was introduced by Sir Terry Wogan, last weekend about how the Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted, was supporting them as their father, Andy, battled terminal cancer.

Sadly Mr Gray died in August, he was in his late 30s.

The Hospice of St Francis was given money from CIN to pay for a support worker, Alex James, who helps children come to terms with the loss of a parent of loved one.

Maddie Gray: "We couldn't believe we were standing next to JLS and Westlife and then we met Peter Andre who was really nice. They were so lovely and wanted to know more about our story. I've been telling all our friends at school about it and now we feel like celebrities ourselves. We just want to thank everyone at the hospice for everything they did for my Dad."

Maddie and Lillie's mum Alison added: "Peter really was charming and said to me, it hasn't been very long, how are you coping and we were just overwhelmed. I want to personally thank the hospice and everyone there for everything they have done for our family. They weren't mentioned on the night and I want people to acknowledge how important they are to this local community."
