Youth team step closer to playing at Bolton Wanderers

Tornado U13s have edged closer to playing at the Reebok Stadium after seeing off their local rivals in the Tesco Cup county final.

The boys beat Comets U13s 5-0 last Sunday at the county ground, Letchworth, to take them through to the regional round.

It was midfield madness as goalscoring twins Alex and Harry Gilbert, Ben Hawkins, and Sam Bucci, who bagged a brace, all play in the middle of the park.

Manager Paul Axten said: "What a great result.

"The boys have worked really hard this season and fully deserved to win.

"They are thrilled to progress to the next stage of the competition and will be giving it all they've got at the Regional Final."

They will represent Herts in the next round at REMPF Putney on April 17.

The UK final will be held at Bolton's Reebok Stadium on Sunday, May 16, where teams from across the UK - U14 and U16 girls as well as the U13 boys - will compete.
