Berkhamsted Sunday Football League round-up
FOR just the second time in two months a full programme of Sunday League games was played.
Comets wasted little time in getting back to form after the rain and beat Park Rangers in the Steve Norwood Challenge Cup 4th round 4-1.
Lee Clarke (2), Aaron Lewis and Luke Sharpley all struck for Comets, John Larter for Rangers.
Moving into the 6th round are Leverstock Green Centurians (Jed Juster, Kevin Eaton) who beat Comets Reserves 2-0.
Dan Evans helped himself to a hat-trick as Berko Tornadoes (also Tom Kelly, Andy Wheeler-King, Craig Anscomb) got their Premier Division title challenge back under way with a 6-0 win at Hemel Town Celtic.
Elsewhere Warren Drysdale hit two as AFC Boars (also Jeff Mensah, Ryan Lee, Harry Lee) beat Landrovers (Ben Roucco) 5-1, Gossoms End (Dean Gavin, Neil Spencer, George Living) stay second by winning 3-2 at AC Daniels (Stuart Stedman, David Dixon) and Bovingdon Rangers played out a 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers Wigginton.
Division One and Mark Gaffer bossed the game scoring two goals in Bennetts Hemel's 4-0 defeat of Tring Royals at the bottom of the table.
At the other end of the league Flaunden stay top with a 6-3 win over Cementaprise (Andrew Cooper, Simon Hampton, Keith Lowe). Adam Moulster's hat-trick, Kevin Cotton's double and Matt Hatchett's strike got them the win.
Elsewhere Alex Kingsley was also on the scoresheet three times as Greenacres II (also Tom Porter, Simon Gratton) smashed The Swan 5-0 and Adrian Keane and Luke Ellis got two each as Berko Rangers and Berko Raiders drew their derby game 2-2.
Top of the World stay top of the league as the Division Two side beat DPFC thanks to Ben Hull, Gareth Carder (2) and Jay Prestedge.
Behind them in second are Warners End (Lee Picknell (3), Peter Storey (2), Ned Ozkasim, Tommy Venner, Paul Branson) who smashed Adeyfield 8-2, and Landrovers Reserves, who were beaten 3-0 at Herald United (Kevin Price, Craig Carrington, Scott Carrington).
Archers Revenge (Gerald Davies, Gareth Davies, Jamie Cattle) and Mokoko (Sam Davison, Rimmel Patel, Dean Spicer) drew three apiece while Castlemead beat BSI (Neil Harper) 4-1 with Andrew Frew on target three times and Paul Berryman once.
Division Three side Haven were in heaven after a 10-2 demolishing of Green Park Rovers (Steve Cook, Dave Hollick).
Dan Hayes (4), Adrian King (2), Andy Sparks, Jamie Green and Mike Grey added to an own goal for Haven.
The George (Luke Hughes(3), Lewis Wornham (2), James Hood) stay top after winning 6-0 at Shaka, The Midland (Rocco Cordara, Mitch Killingback) lose ground with a 2-2 draw at KLCC AMS (Matt Smith, Stuart Smith) while Drager Medical (Matt O'Kelly (2), Elliot Gunn (2)) won 4-1 at Hemel Abbots (Matt Honey).
Berkhamsted Tornadoes Reserves' push for the Division Four top slipped as they were beaten 7-4 by The Gade. Ricky Shepherd's four goals weren't enough as Danny Fielding (3), James Durrant (2), Ben Fisk and Jon Keen won it for the visitors.
The Queens Head lost ground on the table-toppers as they were beaten 2-0 by The Old Bell (Steve Murphy, Peter Canty), while AC Grapes (Juan Villar, Justin Seymour, Danny Donovan, Brian Green) won 4-1 at The Old Bell Gate (Kirren Taylor).
The spoils were shared between Anchor Tring (Stuart Green (2)) and Leverstock Green Centurians Reserves (Dylan Rance, Dale Makepeace) while Inter Hemel Sunday were 5-1 winners at Bennetts End Athletic.
Paul Darby's brace was added to by Martin Pike, Ryan Roberts and Joe Darby.
