Royal win for Hemel

It was a successful day all round for the two Hemel Hempstead Canoe Club crews at the Royal Canoe Club Marathon.

Erika Henson and Camilla Lennon won the senior women's K2 race, clocking 3.01.

Meanwhile in the senior men's equivalent, John Houston and Robin Oakley came third in 2.39.

The 19 mile course with six portages from Runnymede to Teddington was fraught with difficulties but the two intrepid Hemel crews showed just how well they've been training in recent weeks.

John Bennett, Bob Pearce and Chris Marshall provided their support.
