Relegation revenge as Tudors win again
Hemel Hempstead Town FC went back to the team that knocked them out of the Southern Premier Division last season and came back with all three points.
Although they were given a relegation reprieve during summer Tuesday's 3-2 win, which was the Tudors' third in four games, was sweet revenge for April's 3-1 defeat.
"We're delighted to come away from there with three points - it's not an easy place to go.
"We were concerned it might take a while to start gelling but it seems to be happening now."
The win, which sent Hemel into fourth place in the table, helped them leave Saturday's 1-0 loss at home to Hednesford Town well behind them.
Dennis Fenemore opened the scoring with a shot that took a couple of ricochets on 18 minutes
His effort, which was struck from the left hand side of the area, was cancelled out on the half hour mark by Marcus Jackson whose cross found the back of Mike McEntergart's net.
Leamington bagged a quickfire second two minutes later when Luke Corbett fired home from close range.
An improved second half performance from a defensively strong Tudors side saw them turn the game round.
Ross Lafayette got his first just six minutes after the break, bundling the ball in from close range.
Bruce Wilson set up the Hemel newbie for his second, Lafayette storming in at the near post to connect with his cross on the hour.
A tough few days now sees Hemel go to Salisbury, who were relegated from the Conference last season, where they will play in front of up to 1,000 fans.
Monday sees them entertain Cambridge City.
