Pacers prove point that size not important

A SMALL running club cleaned up at a county championship race.

David Lloyd Pacers has around 50 members most of whom are from around Dacorum.

And they won the overall ladies team prize and the Vets County Ladies team prize at the Herts County Vets 10 mile Championships last weekend in St Albans.

Level Three coach Celia Findlay runs the club. She said: "We seem to do really well in the big championships and we beat some big teams.

"We do well for a small club."

First home was Vikki Harrison (second Vet 35) who finished 10th overall in 71.49.

The Felden-based runner was followed by Celia (75.09, second Vet 45), who is from Hemel Hempstead and Moira Craft (76.54).

Sue Williams, from Abbots Langley, was home in 84.11secs to claim sixth in the Vet 45s.

The club also has a promising junior section.
