This is an important competition in the BJA Judo calender, with competitors travelling from many counties for the opportunity to take on top judoka.

Gold medals were won by Evie Halvey-Jacobs (A Grade) and Michael Fryer (Cadets). Michael also won a silver medal in the senior category.

Sharon Rush competed in the seniors, taking a well earned bronze medal.

Cadets Charlie Bennett and Emily Niven won bronze, and in Pre-Cadets Hannah Niven won silver with Gergo Berendi taking bronze.

Pre-Cadet Haydn Williams and A Grade Lewis Fryer competed in extremely large groups and were unlucky to return without a medal, but as Lewis philosophically said: “There is no losing, just winning and learning.”

Coaches Laurie Rush and Peter Brent were pleased with the results and particularly with the friendship and progress within the club.
